  • why does this track seem so low speed? and short?

  • It is short.

It's Mission Raceway in British Columbia. It's 1.2miles, good lap times are in the 1:15 range.

  • Remember this, the porshes and other "Euro-trash" (very funny) have a 3 to 3.5 liter engine while the camaros and other muscle cars have something like 5.5 to 7 liters of power in them. Also, this is a vintage race, the drivers mightnot want to hurt their cars.

  • This Camaro is likely a 302 ~ 5.0 litre. The Porsche may have been able to catch up but he had a spin. It was a great battle though.

This years Historics is coming up on the first weekend of August. If I can attend, I hope to post some more videos.

  • The announcer needs to go to a library to research vintage Trans Am and then head to a racetrack to actually drive one of the old pony cars that are prepared properly. Most people will never give an unbiased opinion on anything...and even worse, they compare cars based on their street, production specification, which can sometimes mean very little with regards to how a full race car is setup. The Z and the 911 shown here are both formidable track machines.

  • also, yes the announcer is a moron... I race vintage and this guy is way off on everything!!!

  • this made me laugh my ass off.

  • @scott93256 your right man its nice to see what the camaro can do but honestly i think the third gen late model fbody camaro/ transam would have been a better fit. The fbodys had the ws6 and 700r4 which came in nice for course raceing.... I think the porsche would have had a harder time with a 3rd gen late model.

  • @suchall

This proves right here that our cars can do more than just go in a straight line

  • @krulliko Also, I dont think anyone really wants to trash their cars! So they take it easy

  • @caboose353 Yeah the vintage races are very rarely balls-out events. With a couple of exceptions that include guys with vast amounts of money for repairs, the owners of these cars are usually just out for a good time and don't want to risk damage.

  • The anouncer obviously does not know too much about Camero's. That car is a beast.. DESTROYING the poor English jaguar's.. and smoking the FORDS.... and the Corvette which is pretty wicked.. great driver in the Camero.. really putting the hammer down!

  • Shoot my new 1969 camaro puts out aound 425 horsepower

  • mann those announcers dont stop talking trash about the camaro, and about how someones gonna pass the camaro but it neverrrr happensssssssssss

  • 350 hp is reasonable for any small block chevy, really. look at my videos, we figure its got around 330 - 350 and we did that in our backyard..

  • WOOT american all the way baybeee :)
