  • @jamjamcat Ok, thanks.

  • @raytawatari Nornal paper are only for "Practice", not for real work. Nornal paper are very thin, easy to break. I pratice on copy paper and throw it away. I do my real works on mang paper. If you can draw good lines on copy paper, then you will have no problem on drawing on real manga paper.

  • @jamjamcat thanks:) but is it really ok on normal paper? i also have manuscript...i just want to know, really copy paper?:)

  • @raytawatari

When to replace the Maru-pen nib---> The top point of the nib, is divided by a split. You need to replace the nib, if you see the split is twisted,

Tip for using Maru-pen: Draw with the flow. Draw it with it's direction.

Practice method: Practice drawing rendom shape on copie paper (paper for copy machine), and you will be fine after break 10 nibs, and after 50 pages.

    Hi raytawatari,

For Maru-pen, it's good for drawing detail or small things... eg: a hair fiber.

Just gripping it lightly & gently, only apply little pressure for drawing thick line.

Maru-pen nib is very flexible. Too many pressure can break and damage it.

  • @raytawatari

We use dip pen, because it createa great variety within the line.

For speech bubbles or frame etc, it only needs consistent line. So you can use any pen. Saji is okay too.

  • @jamjamcat Im asking because I saw your other videos, and I see that you can use the maru pen very fluently and efficiently:)

  • @jamjamcat I'm having trouble mastering maru:( Im too strong! My G-pen works fine, and saji...I mean, not many have problems with saji, because its one of the easiest and still very effective pens...I mostly use saji for speech bubbles though. is this weird?:D

Oh, and do you have a method of how to draw smooth lines with maru? A practice method?

  • @Hotrealm93

YES! ME TOO! YEAH ! Traditional nibs are the best tools!!

  • microns , and gel ink pens sucks!!!

I am for traditional nibs(g-,maru,kabura) drawing!!!
