Chuck Norris Sucks

Chuck Norris is a Fundamentalist Christian who wants the Bible taught in schools as history and literature, rather than alongside all the other religions in a religious studies course.

I have no problem with teaching the Bible in college, church, or at home. But I oppose teaching it in public schools - elementary school through high school. It violates the separation of church and state because it is an example of the government favoring one religion over another.

Christians or all stripes and sects should also be troubled by this because whenever there is a professor teaching the Bible to your children, he or she may not have the same interpretation as you and your children may adopt a view of the Bible that you don't agree with.

This video was edited to remove the number for this organization from view so that I am not inadvertently recruiting supporters for their cause.

Also, sorry to anyone whose comments were removed. I should have been thinking about this all along.

Update: As of Mar. 2006, twice as many schools have rejected the curriculum or been legally forced to remove it as have adopted it (6 have adopted, 12 have rejected or been forced to remove it).

he wants the bible to be taugth because the us was founded pretty much in it however they cant make you be christian because of law they just can tell you but its up to you. I go to a christian school and they never get after people who arent christians there. Being biased on a religion just because those you´ve met were not so nice is not fair. If an atheist were to discriminate or harass a christian or a muslim it would not be fair to say all atheist are mean towards christians and/or muslims

@darkeus57 The US was not "basically founded" on the Bible. Our government is secular according to the Constitution. They can't favor the Bible over any other religious book in schools, including Satanism. That's where the test will be. If a teacher can teach the Bible in a public school, you have to let them teach Satanism.

@darkeus57 Most atheists aren't atheists because Christians were mean to them. We're atheists because Christianity is not true, and I could list reasons till the cows come home.
