@omegagilgamesh Still waters are exactly that... STILL... However, just because the water is still doesn't mean the water does not run deep. Still Waters are usually lakes without waves crashing off of rocks,etc,etc... Water that remains very quiet and still... or lakes are referred to as STILL WATERS...

Still waters run deep is used to describe a person who is normally quiet and doesnt really speak unless they have something worth while to say or add and that he/she is very thoughtful with what they say. hence 'he is very quiet and shy yes but still waters run deep' basically he is quiet and shy but when he does speak its often with alot of thought and meaning.
