Brilliant...!! Thanks for a really great laugh :) Speaking as a sad obsessive fan of Star Wars (well, the old films, anyway...), I absolutely love this - it's not easy to make a parody of something as famous as Star Wars (and "Millionaire", too - with a cameo appearance by Star Trek as well, just to add complete perfection!) and still keep it fresh, original AND really funny, which this video certainly is. Thanks a lot for uploading!! :))

I guess you're right, but I could've sworn that this was broadcast before TPM came out.
As for Showtoys, that film seems to be much more popular nowdays (Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls that is) with it's "cult following", but yeah, that "Pets Win Prizes" reference sure is antiquated.
"D you know what he said?"
"I didn't understand a fucking word you just said"
Does anyone know why those subtitles aren't on the best of DVD?

@welshfilmbuff
The whole thing is edited and 'updated' - the subtitles are different, as is the ending, and coughing sound effects are added throughout.

@Pepotamo1985
But did Cornish or Buxton ever mention why they did this? I haven't seen this version since it was first televised, so I was starting to think I was imagining things. Thanks for uploading :-)

@welshfilmbuff
As I say, I imagine it was to make it more topical - e.g. ending is changed from Chewie selling pirate copies of Phantom Menace (at the time the most pirated pre-release films in history), and is instead changed to Chew cheating (a reference to the infamous cough cheat who paid back his winnings). Seems a bit odd when they have Showtoys on the DVD, which makes no sense to anyone who wasn't about 20 at the time of original broadcast, but c'est la vie.
