I am a 16 year old kid who really loves anything related to aviation. I am a frequent flier with American Airlines and have achieved Permanent Platinum status. I just hit the 3 million mile marker! My lifetime goal is to become a commercial airline pilot. I have a 3.611 GPA and am 4th in my class. I have flown small airplanes such as Cessna 172 and a Piper Cherokee. All in all I love the sound of flying. Do you have any advice that would help me obtain that goal? Thanks and one heck of a video!

@MaroonCamaro Thanks for the advice! I would have went the military route, but there was only one problem; I am color deficient and the military won't except anyone with that disability. I have checked with a AME and he guaranteed me that I would be able to pass a 1st Class medical with no waivers. Therefore, the civilian route works, but not the military route. /: Again, I appreciate that you took the time to give me some advice. Thanks!

@FS98FSX Thanks, I appreciate any advice! I will hope to be able to fly for some sort of regional airline like American Eagle and then work my way up to American Airlines. I just hope that there will be jobs available! Thanks again for the advice!

@NormanMartin1000 and also if you want to get your hours for a major airline like Delta, American Airlines, Continental join a commuter airline ASA, Comair, Skywest, Mesaba

@NormanMartin1000 Go military if you can. Then you get everything paid for.
I'd hit up a CFR 61 Flight school and start taking lessons. At 16 you can hold a student pilot certificate and at 17 get your private. It's expensive but a step forward in your career if you don't go military. You'll have to work up in your ratings to an ATP and build some time. Try finding a college with an aviation program so you can get your 4 year degree and fly with the majors later on.
