In Tanzania, most people are based in rural areas where access to health care is limited. Yet the epicentre of healthcare expertise and resources remains in the cities. The online telemedicine platform iPath connects doctors based in rural areas with other doctors in and outside Tanzania, increasing the quality of diagnosis in rural areas. Telemedicine is beneficial for patients, because they can get specialist consultations in their own hospital.
The video shows how the telemedicine project, run by ELCT and supported by IICD and Cordaid, is working in Tanzania.
