Online culture sharing is great because independent artists can't make a living without people sharing their work.

also, movies are not cheap. the kind of movies you want to see are not made for 200 dollars. they cost thousands or millions (sometimes hundreds of millions) of dollars to make.

if the filmmaker is not able to pay back his investors he might not get a chance to make another movie, or even worse, he may lose his house because he might have invested his own PERSONAL money into it.

in my opinion pirates are worse than store robbers because stores at least can get insurance, filmmakers can't.

wow, you're even dumber than I thought. first of all 99% of movies don't go to theatres. second, how does the idea that they'll still make money make it ok? if everyone did what you're doing (and you're a dumbshit for doing so) then they wouldn't have money.

Your username says a lot about you. Ultradumbass. Artists can have concerts and make money from that. Movies will still get money from theater revenue. Games. There are ways to make pirating those difficult. I don't think that industry will suffer much. I still buy media content, especially CD's and records.

Why? Why is the internet supposed to be free? It costs money to keep the internet going, server capacity etc. You are using these servers so you should pay for it.

Just because your parents are paying your internet subscription doesn't mean its free.
