  • Don't worry people. We are on a road to socialism where housing, manufacturing and food belongs to the government. You will work for the government and they will pretend that they are paying you and you are goona pretend that you are working. And we will have a very nice pretend life. In the mornings you will read Pelosi Post and in the evenings you will be watching movies made by Obamawood.

  • Do you have a mind?

You're going to have to start using it to prove that it exists.

Do you honestly believe that had Obama run in 2000 and won, he would have spent less than Bush or somehow forced Greenspan to do something different?

If yes... THEN WHY IN THE HELL IS HE DOING THE SAME DAMNED THINGS NOW, ONLY TWICE AS MUCH, AND 8 TIMES AS FAST??

Obama is turning out to be Bush III, Bush on steroids, the Dumber to Bush's Dumb. Take away his teleprompter and he even sounds as bad as Bush.

  • @christo930 The content more than makes up for it. I'm sick of empty, glib false promises and platitudes ala politics as usual.

  • @soylentgreenb The root cause of all this was our failure to disarm at the end of ww2. We should have went back to pre-ww2 levels of military and military spending. A 40 year cold war could have been avoided, as would have vietnam and the other adventures of the military. No country seems to be able to resist using a large military if they have one. The military becomes far too ingrained and "dug in" so to speak. It's like any other gov bureaucracy that once created want to go on forever.

  • @christo930 The cold war was not just expensive; the logic of nuclear war and development of nuclear weapons drove the accumulation of power in the executive branch and created the machinery of secrecy that had there-to-fore been unthinkable.

When the US was secretely bombing Cambodia it was no secret to the Cambodians; it was only secret to the american public. Legitimate secrets, like when and where D-day will occur, no longer need to be kept secret once the event occurs.

  • I wish he would have continued with the cold war which was just as inflationary and just as expensive as any other war.

  • This guy has got to be one of the worst public speakers I have ever heard in my life.

  • I think you're ignoring the that there are far fewer freedom-loving people than there are neo-cons, lol. We didn't make a dent in policy then and we're not doing so now, even though people are doing what they can. That's what happens when you uphold democracy more than protecting people's rights. People start voting the freedoms of others away.

  • A little after 27:00 he gets all up in arms over the fact that the Fed was buying government bonds directly during WWII. That's EXACTLY what's happening now, more and more every day.

  • Strikes very close to a Serb's heart. Great speech, thank you.

  • right. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge

    People have summoned the government.

  • It's still sad for the active, freedom-loving Americans who oppose this but will also have to live in a future they didn't choose.

Eventually, though, such a socialist order will collapse under competition (somewhere) from fitter, freer markets.
