This is part 1 of my video series about my method for breeding the Blue Ram dwarf cichlid, Microgeophagus Ramirezi. Here you see a pair of Blue Rams, male and female, pecking at a piece of driftwood in my aquarium. This is how they select a spawning site. If you see your rams exhibiting this behavior, expect eggs soon! The day after I took this footage I moved the pair to a 10 gallon tank and they laid eggs.

  • Not sure how big of an aquarium you have, but I'd say as long as it's at least 20 gallons you would be OK.

  • thus is your aquarium?

  • my ram has laid eggs for three times but after 26 hours the eggs turn white and mom,dad eats them until than they grad the eggs good is any thing wrong with my water, how much degree should i keep the hitter please help me

  • @lfclikewalfc I'd say PH 6.8, there is some kind of chemical thing u buy at the store which softens the water :) also, you should have about 25-27 temperature. That's for all apistogramma and german blue ram. Atleast that's what the store owner told me, and he really is an expert!

  • will they be ok with a ph of 7 and temperature of 24 or will they need their own tank?

  • @MInibarJG ebay is good for driftwood

  • where did u get that tree stump thing?! been looking everywhere for one!
