This road leads to the highest motorable pass in the world in the Himalayas and is closed half the year. The army works to open it and keep it that way but there are constant landslides, occasional cloudbursts (like the one the day after this video that killed hundreds in Leh) and a ridiculous amount of traffic. That fact that there are roads there at all is no small feat.
