when you continue grinding like this you'll finish maybe the next 2 years with an astigmatism mirror:-)

@Jules7892 wow, this is why no one wants to use their own brain, its this way of thinking that will end our creative spirit. Pushing glass is an amazing experience and who cares if it cost you $500 and its worth 1 dollar when your done, it will be an experience that you carry with you for the rest of your life, Buying it means nothing. Trust that you can do it and you will, these people who discourage are evil minded.

Well done, only, I'd go a little bit faster on the mirror and apply some pressure to the tool, so I would finish quicker.

Why do u need to grind mirror and what u do after grinding?..

I'd love to learn how to grind mirrors or lenses; where can I find out more information about how to do it, the tools to use and where you can buy them etc? I'd be grateful for any information about this.

oh yah and i forgot to tell you that dolphins are really gay sharks.
Don't forget, even after you have finished Parabolizing your Telescope Newtonian Primary Mirror, " You need to still have it checked by an Optical Engineer for Precise Re-Configuration Accuracies and elimination of any remaining Astimagmatisms or Comas, so this adds to the price". Simply put, Just Buy your Mirror Already Made by Optical Laser Corunmdum Computerized Grinding, ITS A LOT CHEAPER & LESS WORK"!!!!

how long does it take to grind that mirror? then you still have to polish it and get the correct curviture. right?
bimbo228 2 years ago
It really depends on how ambitious you are, could take a couple weeks or in my case, a year. Yes you have to test the mirror to make sure the curvature is correct, your end result needs to be parabolic. I have since finished this mirror. If your interested in telescope making just google "ametuer telescope making", it a good place to start!

Does he need to grind a secondary Cassegrainian mirror??? Where has he put the primary???

Actually this is going to be an 8" newtonian, what you see is the primary, I will probably end up buying the secondary mirror.
