This place was and still is amazing! I am not Christian but there is definately a positive energy that dwells there and has helped myself and countless others through tough times. This shrine was built for the public as a place to pray, find faith and strength to carry on!
I hope it gets rebuilt cause of the fire the cross and the lady on the hill still stand but as what i can see everything else is gone =/ unable to get closer because fire crew has area closed.
To forjusticethnks. First, this is a religious shrine that survived lawsuits by non-believers in the lord Jesus Christ saviour of all believing mankind. Next, it is this person's money to do as he wishes. I was there recently and this magnificant shrine was being visited by what appeared to be needy people looking for nothing but faith in God. Last, this tribute to the Christianity was for everyone not the owner. This generous person opened up his property for everyone.God Bless this man.
About wasting his money... So you are saying that instead of hiring dozens and dozens of workers and artists he should have kept his money in a bank? Or are you saying he should have simply GIVEN the money to the workers and artists. Hmm... I like the part where they did the work and he paid them. Would not call that a waste at all!
If you really knew the story behind all of this, you wouldn't judge. I know the founders of the Shrine, and it was not build for themselves, but for all who wants to find peace and a place for prayer. You should go or get the book with the messages so you can get better informed. Pax Tecum!

This was built by my half sister and brother inlaw. I am proud of what they built. At least they used money for something so good
