Part 1-this commercial break was taped sometime in 1986 on WPIX-11 during a broadcast of "Blazing Saddles."* (sorry for the buzzing noise you might here.)

1.Robitussin-(the family is so concerned about the mother's illness not because she's sick but because who will cook dinner for them now?)
2.A & P-(the very beginning of this song sounds like that 80's song "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters)
3. Tv Spot for Soul Man-(okay, from what i understand about this movie, there's only black scholarships to get into college so a white guy takes large amounts of tanning pills so he can appear to be black & get into college. I'm gonna run right out & rent this one.*note: that's sarcasm.*)
4.Casino Yahtzee-(it seems like a row of tap dancers should be on this)
5.The Wiz-(grand opening & free hats,frisbees, & shirts!)
6.WPIX-11 8 o'clock Movie ID
7.Head & Shoulders-(has anyone ever seen somebody with so much dandruff that it's noticable on their shoulders? Just asking cause I never did.Guess everyone around me uses head & shoulders)
8.Schweppes-(nothing like celebrating the holidays with tonic water & a charlie brown christmas tree..oh wait, look behind the door!)
9.Lit Tours-(now, what the hell did he just say?)
10.Carteret Savngs Bank-(he's showing off now that he's got it like that)
11.Chevrolet-(I guess the message is driving a chevy is way better than exercising any day!)
12.Promo for National Lampoon's Animal House-( I remember that my grandfather wouldn't rent this movie for me because he thought "animal house" was a x-rated film!)

  • I love old commercials

  • The "8 O'Clock Movie" ID voiceover was Bill Biery (R.I.P.), while Ralph Lowenstein did the honors at the end of the "Animal House" promo and the return of the movie.
