@PerfectionIncarnate That is true, they usually hunt Minke's and there is not much of Blue's left anyway. But you know, when things go commercial, you cannot count it by fingers. I am not completely against whaling as it is part of Jap. Culture, but let them [breed/] hunt in their shores only. That will stop a shit load of complain. Good News is some species are recovering because of BAN put 1960-70s.

@gardinustaung 2) Nobody will blame Japanese ships being in the middle of the Ocean, that is legit, but what they do is endangering. The point is not territorial aspect. It's about saving the whales.

About starvation I said, :: IF, That means if there was starvation, then eating even endangered species ok, because of human life.

If you like the taste, build you big farm in the Ocean and breed whales it as much as you want. But leave what belongs to everybody.

@gardinustaung 1) 50-200 miles from the coast where zones designated for, commercial, fishing, or as buffer zones. The rest of the area is international. If Russian nuclear, or other ship passes "near" Japan, nobody will say shit as long as it does not touch the buffer zone limit. Same Chinese or others can do. It's same way with fishing/whaling. Try to fish/whale near Kamchatka Island, Russians will complain. How about middle of the ocean? It's ok, but that belongs to all of us.

@nebozemlya Some whale species are endangered, some aren't. The whales that are mostly being hunted these days are species such as the Minke whales, a species that isn't anywhere close to extinction. Just stating a fact.

@nebozemlya First of all there are many speeches of whale only a very few are endangered, most of them are in fact not. Greenpeace and other corporations like to use the endangered argument do excuse violence against the whalers.

Secondly the ocean dose not belong to everyone, countries by the sea own the sea closest to that country.

And finally, starvation? really? We hunt whale cause we like the taste, just like we hunt or breed other animals. It is cruel but i like it.

Raise whales as chicken in Japan, those are yours. Ocean belongs to everyone. Open your eyes, there are others too e.g. Russia, Korea, Mexico.

There are plenty of chicken, but whales are endangered. We want our children be able to see whales alive, not skeleton in museum.

Hunting whales could be ok if there was starvation in Japan. But that is not happening. There is plenty of food there. Instead of arguing, try to look from different angle. U will see. You are also human.
