  • Phil's artwork!

  • This is a marvelous version of this song. I love call and response when its well done. I think the best modern cover that I've heard is Government Mule's version.

  • Check out the Wikipedia discussion of this song. This is the original, recorded in 1930 and there's another version with different lyrics recorded later. That's his first wife Willie B. Harris doing the responses. Of all the covers of this song over the years, this still is the most powerful.

    One guitar, two voices. Wow.

  • No one can touch this version except blind willie johnson!

  • @BloodyCatastrophee The consensus seems to be that it is his first wife, also named Willie

  • Who sings with willie here? We sound kind of similar! =D

  • @tehnubster69 GOD bless you <3 Nice to see that someone like you is also drawn to GOD thru gospel music. shalom shalom <3

  • Who needs conventional narative? This version says something and you have to keep going back to figure out exactly what. And you still don't get the particulars, but you get the general gist.

  • this man is good! ive heard a few of the renditions i like the one from sons of anarchy best only because that was the first one ive heard but still the original is great too!!!!
