To the persons uploading carnatic concert videos : Please always try to indicate the Names of ALL the artists, that is mrudangam, gatam and if possible even tampura, before giving a description of the main artist. Thanks.

Sophistication is maybe the wrong term to use. Carnatic music is a lot more complex and as such is more sophisticated and generally requires a very trained ear to truly enjoy it. Carnatic music Being the oldest etc certainly does not make it the best etc but it is generally considered that Hindustani music is more easy on the ear, but it my opinion that Hindustani music is great to listn to in the hand of Masters whereas Carnatic music is very listenable even from Bgrade artists. @KillinDaWelfareMCs It is not less sophisicated just because its different. Karnatic is the orginal Indian style, it came from the Vedas--the ancient hindu texts. Hindustani emerged more recently as a mixture between indian-hindu music and arab/persian-islamic musical persuasions. Karnatic and Hindustani players use the same Raga(m)s and Tala(m)s, but with different instruments, the Mridangam outdates the tabla, the veena outdates the sitar, etc...
