Nope, you are wrong. Spark CLEARLY says that he IS forerunner at the end of halo 3:
"You are a child of my makers, you ARE forerunner! But this ring is mine..."
Remember? lol remember HF277? U remember now? :P
So I'm right :P But i agree that there are other things that are cannon but if it's against the games like in this case, then it is not cannon.

The halo universe is so much bigger than just the games. The games are nothing more than a small sliver of the whole story. The Halo timeline goes back hundreds of thousands of years. For example, in the halo universe, prehistoric humans actually had an interstellar civilization and even fought a war against the forerunners. They lost, and the forerunners reverted the humans back to primitive tribals, forced to start civilization over again.

@Football9Freestylen actualy after reach was glassed a few spartans survived and died on the way back to earth to warn about a covenant invasion the survivors were
