June 24, 1998: Drafted 7th overall by Sacramento Kings in 1998 NBA Draft.

Following his suspension by the University of Florida, Williams decided to make himself eligible for the NBA Draft. He was the seventh overall selection in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.
In his rookie year, the Kings, with a roster that included newcomers Williams, Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, and Peja Stojaković, turned into a playoff contender. That year, Williams' number 55 jersey was among the top five sellers of all NBA players.
On July 20, 2000, Williams was suspended for the first five games of the 200001 NBA season for failure to comply with his treatment obligations under the NBA's anti-drug program. The NBA does not release details of violations of the anti-drug program.

  • @sean14sc All I'm saying is that I know he got injuries that plagued him but I also think that Stern and his cronies wanted him to stop his razzle dazzle that was previously reserved for black players because they saw how the white kids in the burbs were starting to become more street and in my mind they do not want any "street" players in the NBA and if all white kids in the next generation were "street" the NBA would turn into nothing more than and AND 1 tour. JWILL was a trailblazer

  • @twiztajoka69 fo sho mang. anything that carries too much swag is hated upon by rich whities. Check out the '91 UNLV Rebels, the Fab 5, Jerry Tarkanian....all repped the hood, had swag. but was hated on by peeps wit money. One love my brotha !

  • Jason Williams has no negative votes ;)

  • @sean14sc yea he played well, but I'm talking about those insane pistol pete moves that put him on the map. That flash that made all white guys belkieve that they can break the ankles of any player in the world. Thanks to JWILL a generation of white kids now have insane moves that even lead to one of the best street ballers ever- The professor.

  • @twiztajoka69 knee tendinitis, and the grizzlies were a terrible team. played well in miami and orlando before he retired.

  • can any1 please tell me wtf happened to his game after he left sac town? did the nba try to "restrict" white chocolate's moves? hmmmm

  • Great video. Great job.

  • if only he matured and stayed in sac wed have flash and a good productive moving offense

  • behind the backs Jay Will
