@262beauty if u did ur research b4 commenting somthing silly u would know africans did this for many reason...beauty,keep it manegable,to keep hair up so its less exposed to the sun.,to keep it up to get some relief from the heat.out of the way while they did work.it was also a sort of art form as well. any culture can wear braids thou its 2010
