  • This series lost me by the end of To Play the King. If I had a private head of security who could arrange any sort of murder I needed for me, I imagine I wouldn't have much difficulty as Prime Minister either.

  • love this series

  • @thattaityguy

Its a toss up, if she landed in the wrong position and snapped her neck she would have died. Guess it just depends on how you land on the van

  • I think what makes the death so strong is that Urqhart gets away with it - it makes you hate him all the more.

I think if he had gotten caught for everything he had done in the tv show it wouldnt be as memorable.

  • @thattaityguy It's even more shocking if you read the book first, as I did. In the novel--*spoiler alert*--Urquhart commits suicide after confessing to O'Neill's murder and the frame-up of Collingridge. As the dialogue unfolded, I was thinking "It doesn't sound like he's going to kill himself", and when the final moment came I just gaped. I had just assumed that the continuation of the story involved the political fall-out from the revelation that the party leader was a murderer and blackmailer.

  • The random Irish people were terrorists.

  • Ian Richardson was gifted with an amazing voice.

  • Scrub that last posting! I've just found that the incident I referred to is in the clip "Tribute To Commander Corder". Still arguable though whether it should be credited to CC or FU.

  • What about the carload of yobbos encountered on the motorway (in To Play The King)? I realise Corder & Co were the immediate agents there, but they were acting on FU's behalf all right.

  • Fantastic ! ! ! Can't be put in words.
