Thirunarunkondai is the most important place of pilgrimage by jains inTamilnadu.. it has a hillock. cave, stone beds, inscriptions(320, and the most beautiful rockcut bas relief of sri Appandainathar- (Sri Parswa Thirthankara). this holest place in Tamil Nadu had ben patronised by Cholas,Pandyas, their feudatories and the later rulers.

Thirunarun kondai comes under Ulundurpet Taluk in Villupuram Dt. It is 16 Km north west of Ulundurpet and 21 Km south west of Thirukkovilur.
4hrs drive in car from Chennai
- 6-7 hrs by bus. Rest rooms available but take your food as there is no facility for food. it is a small vilage. nearest town is Ulundurpet
