Filmed 1/17/10. This is some SE Iowa underwater ice fishing footage filmed on my HD videocamera watching a Fish TV 5" screen. There really is no other way of filming it without buying the DVR kit to go with the Fish TV. Sorry, no $'s for the DVR so this is what you get. I did not realize at the time that the back window in the ice hut was reflecting off the tv screen. Also has some weird video thing going on from videotaping a tv monitor. Still came out alright.
We have a nice selection of bluegill, a few crappies and bass, and one warmouth, i believe. All fish were too small to keep but the bass at the end. Threw him back anyway. I was even playing keep away at one point, hoping a crappie or bigger fish would come by.
Also the audio was all cut up with all the edits, so i looked at some of the soundtracks youtube has to offer. Lets just say i decided to go with no audio. The soundtracks i tested were a little distracting.

  • hey i just bought one of these fish tvs and i wanted to know what your running the fish tv on i mean what type of batterys.

  • @101hunterdan I'm not sure if you got yours with the soft case (i have seen some without), but there is just enough room in the back for a 12v sealed lead acid battery. They run about $25 to $35. You can usually find them at hardware stores or farm stores, or online if you have to. Mine is a 12v 7.2Ah. The higher the amp hours, the longer they will last.

Have fun with it and enjoy!

  • Thanks Dave, actually it's my sons camera. He got it at Blains Farm and Fleet. I know they had a different brand at Menards after the holidays for $50 after a $25 rebate. Alot more fun to watch the tv rather than the spring bobber.

  • When there biting it`s a hoot when they just sit there and look at your hook it`s like playing Bingo it`s there but but but but come on swims away . Good vid there Bud they look like there a foot long .

  • @101hunterdan 12v Motor cycle battery is the easiest last forever as long as you recharge it run a jumper cord to the vehicle when your heading there or if you make a +& -- cord comming from the cig lighter same thing .

  • Bass Pro Shops in Co. Bluffs sell them. They start off at around $125.00 if U get 1 from them make sure U use Ur Rewards card. I wood almost prefer my Fish TV over my Vexilar cuz U can REALLY SEE what's down there.
