I have learned a lot from your telling us what you think is wrong with your paintings. Gives a different perspective for those of us who are new at this. Thanks for taking the time to explain. Then we know what to strive for also. :)

I think the tree is not has it's movement.
I mean you should have a Chinese painting teacher to teach you the real Chinese painting way. Cause Chinese painting is not what you think as American realism painting or any others, It has it's own way. Anyway out of it's way is not called Chinese painting. No metter how good you think it is. But it's not acturally. It's simular but not.

Yanghaiying, this pine tree is beautiful just the way it is. It is perfect and the epitome of poetry in motion. Like you said, it has spirit. It is harmonious.
It is so funny how we are our own worse critics. My self criticism has kept me from doing the things that I love unfortunately. I don't usually paint because I am so down on myself, always saying that I paint like a first grader, but hey, what is wrong with that? If only I could answer that question. . .

Elegant Indeed- I love the fact that your not afraid to critique your own painting. Reminds myself of how I am. However, I wonder if you could go into more detail on what to perhaps do to help the painting. Im a beginner so I need some more pushing haha.
