See Website: www.mundomio.org/hopenow.html. It describes a program for global voluntary free birth control plus paid incentives to participants. It has the power to dramatically lessen environmental stress caused by humans in ONE DECADE.
========================================
Some believe that human world population levels far exceed the world's carrying capacity for same. The result is the increase of a variety of environmental and societal problems: global warming, species extinction, resource exploitation, ecosystem collapse, war, famine, poverty, even disease.

Maybe this factor is not the sole cause, but perhaps it is the single greatest root cause over which we humans can wield influence.

Many novel plans, including global paid voluntary sterilization programs, governmental child incentive removal plus the addition of dis-incentives, plus education exist.

Regarding global paid voluntary sterilization... The majority of the world's people receive annual wages of less than $3,000 USD. For this reason, a payment in that range, would be a tremendous incentive. With plan specifics such as different rates for females vs males, and country/regional specific rates, one can do the math. It can be shown that it is quite affordable, within the community of developed countries, to dramatically reduce the world's human population in two decades.

This question is for all the candidates: Do you have a plan for world human population management?

  • Yogi -

Please actually watch the video before commenting or trying to threaten people.

This relates to free voluntary global birth control.

  • I'm not having them either. There is another one down. I don't really like children either.

  • Thank you for your decision. You've done more by your "not doing" than by recyling, driving a Prius, conserving water, etc. You've prevented the consumption and waste of your children and their children and their children...

  • Also, have to ask... Do you live in the U.S. or other "developed" nation? Would you accept something like $4,500 in cash, goods, and services as a gift for your decision? (I don't have it to give you--wish I did--but that is how the program is designed, were it funded.) That's right, up to $4,500 over and above the free tubal ligation...maybe even more for wealthier regions (such as the U.S.). Wondering if people here would actually jump on such an offer (I would).

  • I'd say this is only "unpopular" among growth-obsessed industry pushers and religious fundamentalists. It's very popular among people who've taken time to understand the world beyond their own petty wants (maybe 1/4th of the populace).

Birthrates tend to drop on their own when women aren't treated like dirt and people realize the folly of religious/supernatural beliefs and face the physical limits of the Earth. Cheap oil has made a lot of people ignore the latter, but that's ending already.

  • overpopulation is caused by poverty. Our rich societies are at minus growth, the apparent increase is due to immigration. Solution; universal prosperity. A market-led path to this using sustainable practice is at livingsystems(dot)com(dot)au

  • @blaziermissy Precisely. Overpopulation is caused by poverty. The solution is universal prosperity. A market-led path to this is at livingsystems(dot)com(dot)au

  • Anyone who would claim that the world is overpopulated should really take a drive through Texas.

  • this is why the asian guy started a hostage situation at discovery. they portrayed over breeders in a good light. terrible. more birth regulation

  • well, the question to be asked is,are there to many people on the planet at this time. if the answer is yes, then perhaps the best way to reduce the pop. would be to only have one child per family until further notice. that to me, would seem to be the most tactfull solution. it would help solve so many food and pollution problems. respectfully yours, kemlo.

  • With an economic and social system that is designed around sustainability and efficiency, elevating humanity and education, we could have astounding quality of life afforded to all.

  • How much longer can we afford the rich?

  • Nope, not becoming a breeder. I think global incentives to not have kids is a good idea.
