@ConrailSD80MAC Nope the SD40-2Fs are still out there as far as i know they are commonly used on the cranbrook BC line mostly going to the smelters in Trail BC

I love the horn on this thing! Goose bumps!

If you take the #1 and #5 bells off the horn of an ES44AC, you get precisely this horn... I wish the RRs would all do that!

LOVE THAT HORN!

I use to look forward to getting woken up by this sound when I was a kid in the mid '70's.
While camping at Shuswap Lake, B.C., these trains would haul through the night with their horn's blaring. Something you could hear echo around for miles. A sort of haunting yet beautiful sound at the same time.

They seriously need to rename Kicking Horse Pas to Kicking Ass Pass, because that's obviously what it does. Love the SD40-2's, especially with that nice ghost horn, man that sounded cool!

Why can't the AC4400s and ES44s have horns that sound this good? That is sweet. It's harder and harder to find SD40-2s these days, especially SD40-2Fs (which I believe are all in storage.) Heck I remember rail-fanning when the ALCOs were being stricken from service...
