  • Is Thanksgiving on a Thursday this year?

  • @MyFunnyBrianShow - Thanksgiving in 2011 is on Thursday, the 24th of November. In the United States, Thanksgiving is always celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.

  • Awww man, I was hoping you'd use a real pumpkin. I enjoy watching people cook with what they grew.

  • @MissVillainess - Unfortunately most people won't have a ripe pumpkin lying around, but if you do, then simply seed it, peel it, cut it into big chunks, add some butter and roast in an oven for 30-40 minutes. Mash the pumpkin and use in the recipe. If you use a good flavoured pumpkin, it will taste amazin :-)

  • is the pie shell supposed to be already baked and then baked again once the pumpkin filling is poured into it?

  • @kml5265 - Yes, you can buy ready-baked pastry cases from any good supermarket, or make your own.

  • Is the brown sugar for flavor or color?

  • HELP! I went to the grocery store to get the ingredients for this pie and whenever I asked for help finding the "soft brown sugar" they kept trying to direct me to brown sugar I'm not sure why but I never found it! So I'm going to try a different store tomorrow but in the meantime could you possibly give me an idea as to where this might be? I'm assuming with the sugars and maybe the previous grocery store was just out of stock or something. Thank You I can't wait to try this recipe!!

  • @dsrevo79 Dunno about babypop9009 but I crack mine on the side of the mixing bowl.

  • @MissVillainess: Pumpkin puree is real pumpkin. I get what you mean though, it just takes too long to prepare the pumpkin puree. I probably need more passion to do that! :D

  • @babypop9009 u serious? how you crack an egg?

  • I have never seen anyone crack an egg like that before.

  • @peterskuse thank you!
