Song was written by Jackson Browne, but I've never heard Jackson Browne play this one. He says he wrote "These Days" at 16, but he would of been 19 when this album was released. Any teenagers writing a song like this these days?

Nico said she didn't like the strings, but she could live with them, but when she heard flutes added onto the tracks, she cried. Blame the LP's producer Tom Wilson (a decent man who produced many stellar LPs) and the arranger Larry Fallon, who rejected Nico's musical suggestions, an insult to the artist they were supposed to help craft the album for to showcase HER talents. Odder still, this song was writ by Jackson Browne, as un-Velvets as it gets, but I'd be lying if I said I disliked it.

It's true that Nico hated the arrangments, but I've become somewhat accustomed to hearing the strings on this record over the many years that i've been listening to it. "Strange Piece Of Crap" does this utterly gorgeous song a huge disservice. And azurenscens, thank you. I couldn't have said it better.
