@simplyamazingmeghan He listed bands that are "true" to the art of music. "Popular" music is nothing but very simple non emotional beats and melodies that people dance to. Music is meant to be a very emotional art form. The artists that he mentioned (for the most part) use their little talent to make money instead of making music true to themselves. That's all.

@archie81000 owl city is actually good, for it is put together well, tswift is at least a nice person and talks to her fans. besides that yes the bands you say are good are excellent, but you didn't even put up rock and roll you put up punk/emo/grunge era.
