Stays in tune properly?
-
Do a cover of the "Ask This Old House" theme!
-
guitar playing was so good I had to watch twice!
-
.35 -.45 -- so pretty I could cry.
-
Beautiful played!
-
awesome slide playing! I have this same model and its one of my favorite guitars. I have a squire strat and the SX guitar has far better sustain and tone. The neck is perfect and the frets are jumbo making solos comfortable.

@satjathamma Yes Rondo music has them.

soul.ful.

it's not the guitar that's important...it's the "ist" .....lovely playing and tone....so expressive

DO you know what the pickups are in these? I know they're stock, but I can't get hold of one of these models. Do you know any other guitars that will have these pickups in?

@7thS0Nofa7thS0N They are basic lower output, bright sounding ceramic pickups that are constructed cheaply. The covers on these are non-removable unlike a normal Strat pickup and the poles are not staggered. Nothing special, but they get the job done.

How did you get the volume plug? Color, where?? Thanks. Love the master vol and tone idea.

@gtknd It's a big plastic rivet that I spray painted white. I found it in the random parts drawer, so I am not sure what it was originally intended to be used for. I know hardware stores sell chromed metal caps for the same purpose that work well, too. Do a Google image search for the Dick Dale Strat Fender's Custom Shop makes; it uses several of those caps.

so apparently this guitar is great for slide. how does it play as a non-slide guitar. And also, any idea whether a typical Strat neck will fit in the pocket?

@peskypesky I bought this guitar with the intention of using it for slide, but I did play it with the factory setup briefly before disassembling it. I felt quite good, no buzzing or high/sharp frets, and they are quite large frets, too. The neck pocket width (at the widest point) on these are 2 1/4" as opposed to the typical 2 3/16" Fender pocket, so you have a little bit of wiggle room. That doesn't guarantee the screw holes will line up, but there's room to spare.
