A classic Mini on a test drive, with the camera crew... and a slight puddle turned everything around. was meant to be a fiction spoof on topgear, however it become real....
at the time of spoof,

Once the Accident happened, it was a totally mess.
Time and Budget was cut and the spoof was Dropped.

Age of Mini? Reg plate suggests '85/'86 but some clues it might be older: Badges on bonnet, boot and A-pillars are all older, chrome front ashtray, centre mounted speedo, lack of top dash padding, cylinder head mounted heater valve and inertia type starter motor (listen!) are all from older Minis. Approx '85 front indicators got bigger and many (not all) had brake servos in '85 (this car hasn't). This car is either rebuilt from many old parts or an old car is being used with newer plate & V5.

@1RadNomad you are indeed correct 1radnomad,
when i got it as a bare shell with no logbook which i had too apply for. i was told buy the current owner it was a british layland mini. so i went ahead and got british layland badges. it wasn't till the log book come back saying it was in-fact a Austin Mini.... i couldn't be asked to change them. the original speedo was replaced with the single pod and your spot on when this mini was built using loads of old parts. being a student budget counts. :D

@triggerhappybullets hi, the points and condenser are at the front near to the grill. when they get wet no spark occurs and the engine dies.
