I'm sitting in a room, for tape (1969)

note: I've decided to put this piece in this channel, even if Lucier is not a minimalist composer nor this is strictly a minimalist piece, because it's a wonderful example of "process music" (which is indeed also called sometimes "minimalist"), music that I love and which is very much in relationship with Reich's music.

@alexandergreenb He pretty much explains it in the monologue, but essentially he recorded this in a room and then played the recording back into the same room, and recorded the sound it produced. He repeated this process until the frequencies emphasised by the resonance masked the original speech of the recording and replaced them with the resonant harmonics and tones of the room.

Holy shit this is creepy. When I had a breakthrough experience on LSD my vision was torn open and in the tear I saw 3 beings looking over me. THIS is what their voices sound like (about 10 min into the piece and after).
