  • @will295000 This song is NOT unreleased. It is on Eltons 1984 CD or LP TOO LOW FOR ZERO. This was NOT a B side. Its on the regular album..it doesn tFIT with tone of the album but it is the BEST track on the album. Too bad he canty play this live again..he doesnt have the falsetto.

  • @will295000 USA is not the center of the world. Try to understand. ;)

  • He ONLY played thi s beautoful song on PART of the 1984 tour..and not since. This remains the ony known video broadcast ever of this beauiful song --enjoy song :)

  • @PopCultureSucks because he lost the voice that could sing these songs 25 years ago unfortunately!

  • @casper1918 The temperatures up to 95,and theirs a winter look in a old mans eye's!

  • I agreed at the time that it soundsed very much to be a song written for someone's father and I still think it likely is. The question was whether it was Elton's or Bernie's father.

  • Very unlikely he'll ever sing this live again! The band struggle a bit with the backing vocals too as they're so high. Unusual for that lot as they were the best in the business

  • Always young dedicated to an older you and me (lol).

  • why does he rarely play his best songs! but then again almost all of Elton's songs are classics so I suppose he has too many to choose from!

  • @BrutoDaBurlyGoon I am always awed by this song. the few live performances that exist from late 83-and early 84 (the only tour he played this song) are a rare treat. A true work of melodic and lyrical genius. Kudos to Elton and bernie on this one.

  • @DavelovesRealMusic

the best, most beautiful track indeed, it was the last song certainly for a reason, I was so amazed the first time I heard it.

  • I bought this on the album in 1983. This and Cold as Christmas were the two best cuts and they both make you hauntingly sad.
