Minecraft 1.5 XP farm using lava [tutorial]

The Redstone part starts at 2:00

This is a xp farm tutorial, it uses lava in an dispenser to bring the mobs down to a one hit kill (Zombies will be a two hit kill because they have more health!). I think this is a very good way to farm your mobs.

Can't seem to get the zombies to die in 1 hit. Has this been nerfed or something?

Zombies have a bit more health than a skelly or a creeper. I think it is impossible to get them down to a one hit kill(with your fist). :)

nevermind... i fixed it by instead of putting a delay of 4 on the first repeater. i put one of 3... works now :)

The best way to do it is make splash potions of healing. That kills them in one hit.

sadly, on the xbox, the dispenser doesnt pull back the lava... it just drops the bucket into the lava

To make zombies a one hit kill, drop them into the lava trap from three blocks up, so they take one bit of fall damage before you turn the lava on them. :)
