  • phanofmusic626 - I think he held a knife to Phillipe's throat.

  • @flapper27 You're so lucky! I was just curious, but in another production of Phantom in Witchita where Richard actually played the Phantom too, he holds a knife to Phillipe's throat but then lets go after Christine pleads him not to kill Phillipe. In the original musical script, Phillipe almost falls off the edge of the catwalk but Christine pleads for the Phantom to save him. Which way was it in the production you saw? Sorry - this is just really getting to me!

  • I'm in love with Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom", but I have to say I'm sorry that that one overshadowed this version. After seeing the 1990 TV series based on this musical, I knew I had to look the original up, and I'm glad I did. This is a beautiful song, and quite unique, because in most Phantom lore there isn't much emphasis on the actual singing lessons. I especially love the voice of whoever is playing Christine! Beautiful!

  • I had the opportunity to see the Yeston/Kopit version back in the early 1990's when they brought it to San Bernardino, California. It was shown at the California Theatre. Richard White was The Phantom. It was quite touching as he was dying (from being shot) in his father's arms. A friend from church invited me to join her to see the show.

  • Finally someone uploads a song from Phantom. Both versions are good anyway.

  • @stigastar031 I know its not from ALW's Phantom. The description states that the song is from Yeston and Kopit's Phantom. I have seen both versions and I wanted to combine the two.

  • Just saw this musical at His Majesty's theatre in Aberdeen. It was amazing, beautiful performance by everyone, espescially Laura Rowley as Christine. Am so glad I got to see it once, it was truly worth it.

  • This is fantastic! I also found it interesting that Micheal Crawford's version (Music of the Night for instance) is one of the highest roles/songs that can be played. and this Phantom has a very deep voice. both different, both wonderful!

Check Barnes and Noble online, or Amazon for the sheet music.
