H.A.W.X Demo gameplay

Its not bad, certainly a bit different to other flight sims/games.

Funny how you can "drift" the planes to dodge attacks and line up faster.

F16 and a Harrier where the ones I saw while playing it, no idea if you can get anymore.

Also an F-15 is availible for the training section.

Iam looking forward to this Demo, it will be available on Playstation Network pretty soon, but i have a few questions.

Is it true, that you can only play in 3rd person view (behind the aircraft) with asisstance activated? In "off-mode" the view changes to the distant view in 3D, but is it possible to play the game in "off-mode" with the 3rd person perspective behind the aircraft?

Ace Combat will still be the top flightgame on consoles, but at least there is an alternative. I hope its a good one

At the start of the video I cycle through the views, all of them (cockpit, 3rd person "chase" and 1st person) all are asisstance on.

Off mode ONLY has the far view.

However -

Even with asisstance on, you still have to activate it by pressing X (for the evasion and approach triangles) so technically you can fly this game like ace combat.

Off mode may look a bit uncrontrollable being so far away, but after a minute or two I was quite comfortable. Also "drifting" is only for off mode.

i can't wait for this to come out on PC...

PC has been missing a LOT of combat flight sims lately... and lock on's just a bit tooo realistic and hard to play without a joystick

Or just make a print a scale 1:1 cocpit of a fighter you like, en put your TV right in the middle of your HUD, en then put the view in HUD mod :p, that's how I do it, and you get to know the cockpit as well :p

I meant the RS. The very second after I posted that comment I went on the demo and tried it myself. I find a cockpit view too disorienting though. If I wanted a realistic jet experience, I wouldn't be playing a video game about it.

you mean the double-tap RT? or are you talking about the HUD and cockpit mode? (press RS)
