Monk Parakeets, also known as Quaker Parrots, are native to South America. They make good pets and learn to talk at a young age. Escaped birds can survive outside their natural range and establish colonies, such as in Europe and North America.
This colony is in a small park in Brussels, Belgium. They have been offered two metal stands to build their communal nests, but now there are two more nests built in trees. People probably offer them food, otherwise I don't see how can they survive, especially in winter.
