I think it depends on the compliment. I get uneasy with superficial ones like, for example my manager complimented me on my figure and I just had no response to that......... But if people compliment me on my work than I'm perfectly confidant with accepting it because people have acknowledged that I am good at what I do.

If my manager complimented me on anything remotely to do with my appearance (with him being a 50 year old man 'an all) I would not be amused!

Usually when someone compliments me i feel very shy and say 'aww thanks' and quickly try to move away from the subject asap! However having chinese parents i understand what you mean by calling your own children ugly just to be 'modest'. I think it's extremely rude for my mother to call me ugly in from of my relatives when i'm over 18 now and actually want to be complimented as pretty! I put a lot of effort in to be! xD

I need to have shower everyday, if I want to keep my hair nice..

Most of the time I just reply, "Ahh;; Thank you..."

I never really feel comfortable when it happens..

no not really. i always blush and i try to say thankyou but its hard. i kinda tuck my head slightly. i think its some sort of self sabatage thing. cause i noticed that i always sub contiously make myself look bad after i get a compliment. and i wanna know why so i can fix it!
