This page needs a "love" button, not just "like"... I totally agree with technology taking over the respect of Mother Nature... I had a failed induction for baby #1= Caesarean. Baby 2 was a VBAC which ended in a CS again. I'm trying for a VBA2C in 15 weeks, and am determined to encourage and allow my body to labour the way it should.. I also agree that "women will take back Childbirth", we are not programmed to go down without a fight!! Just ask our hubbues :-)

This is amazing. I am the mother of Lactnet, a free listserv for breastfeeding professionals, and as a nurse and a lactation consultant, I deal with the problems of medicalized/surgicalized births all the time. It is an issue of power an control, and birth is a "business, " or a "money machine." Fear is the issue for women, and they are indeed "lost." Lactation consultants are on this team, as we deal with the fallout of the medicalized births that women endure and suffer through, helping moms
