What program do you use to open up the vpk. file?

@Taugust99 You don't open the file, you move it to the addons folder and the game should auto detect it.

@Taugust99 Try searching for "L4D2" in your steamapps folder. It should have installed there, however. If not check in your steam library where it's launching from by right clicking L4D2 and clicking properties, it's in the "target" box.

my old computer broke down and i got a new one yesterday i downloaded winrar and the addon support for lfd2 but every time i try to install map or mod it always says The archive is ether unknown or damaged and i test it for damage and repair it and it says it is fine and nothing is wrong with it and yet it still doesn't work

@lameass133 Try downloading the file again and see if it's still corrupt. Try doing this with another file. If only the one you were having problems with is corrupt, then it's the file that was uploaded that was originally corrupt and you should let the developer know. Otherwise it could be your internet, antivirus, or even winrar.

What do i do when i don't have that l4d2 folder?i installed mine by disk and activated it on steam,but don't have the folder.also,the .vpk files are unknown,and i therefor cant install them that way

@Onlyransomdfd13 Go in to steam, right click the properties for L4D2, and you'll see where your L4D2 program is. If there isn't a folder at all there then maybe it isn't done downloading and if it is just make a folder yourself.

@komputerkurt mines been done for a month cuz ive been playing it and when i went to look where my file was theres nothing there it said the homepage the developer and (none available) for manual idk what the hell to do
