Has a politician ever said anything as horrible as Schultheis wanting babies to have AIDS in order to be an example to society of the consequences of promiscuity. And Renfroe comparing being gay to murder is a class act too...
separation of church and state was a response by i believe, jefferson in a letter to the danbury baptists, letting them know that the government will not restrict the church!! nowhere in the constitution does it say such a thing.
True eugene, although history has shown every bill and proposition presented in the state as a whole has reflected like-minded thinking. Remember prop 51 in the 80's?
they are simply THEIR personal beliefs, and the beliefs of the brain dead morons who elected them in their districts. don't confuse 2 state house districts with colorado as a whole.
His statements are quotes from the Bible which reflect his personal beliefs. Because these beliefs are aligned with the majority of people in this state, the Gay community here has come to see anyone not having their point of view as antagonistic to them.
Same sex partnerships are tolerated but their agendas should not be elevated beyond those of heterosexual couples.
Then why is Renfroe allowed to quote the Bible in the house, and use the quote as his argument for not allowing the bill to pass. This is not what our founding fathers had in mind. They wanted church as far away from State as possible. They are turning in their graves.
Not exactly, it says (from memory, might be slightly off) Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof. But implicitly, yet. Courts have interpreted the establisnment clause as delineating a clear line between church and state. And that's a good thing. Churches shouldn't want government interference, and that comes part and parcel with them interfering in government.

God will take care of this issue in His own way. We are not here to judge. He is the Judge Supreme.

Exactly. And not just quoting the bible, but using it as the basis for writing insurance law.
I'm not disagreeing with you on principle, just pointing out that the Constitution doesn't actually say separation of church and state.
