But I am sure there is hope ahead; eurocentric oppressive society has to wake up and realize what it`s doing.
We all need to come together and take each others hands, to learn. To save our common future and the future of our children and all beings on this planet.

This is one, and the most cruel, of the consequences for the awful conditions facing the people on Pine Ridge.
Please, take the time to call the White House or message Mr.Obama.
Tell him the Oglala Sioux Tribe Declared a State of Emergency on Suicide on December 11 2009.
Remind him of the promises that he has made to the First Nations/Native American people.
Promises waiting to be fulfilled..
But be kind. Kindness is more impressing than aggressiveness..
A Gandhi rule that won an Empire..^_^

@211stylez Why not start a program BEFORE the kids get into trouble with drinking, drugging, etc.? Are the Crips and Bloods on the Rosebud? I heard they are at Pine Ridge. Is that true? I hope not.
-
@211stylez That is great that you want to do something positive to help the kids! All kids, I think especially teens, need lots of love and good role models. Do you mean a video arcade? As a Mom, I'm not crazy about that idea. I know kids, especially boys, love that stuff. I feel a lot of the games are too violent. Have you thought about Horse Therapy? There is a program on the Spirit Lake Rez in No. Dakota for juv. offenders.

All they need is love and sombody to lead the way...teach by example...it has to start somewhere.. most people are so wasted on the idea of making an effort because they cant see the light at the end of the tunnel..im 26, pretty young, no children..I KNOW what needs to be and can be done with a little funding...i hate the idea of currency, but it is a necessity to most it seems. I would open up an arcade and operate it myself everyday to play big bro to those without...Be that positive force...

@211stylez -I'm so sorry to hear that you have experienced so much heartache in your life already. When I was up your way last summer, I talked with a young woman who said that she felt like she was in a concentration camp. I was so stunned, I couldn't even reply. It has haunted me ever since. What do YOU think we adults need to do to change this situation? I'm white. I have 2 young adult children. I know how difficult the teen years can be, even if there is no poverty.

Im from parmelee on the rosebud reservation. i lost 12 of my frenz..including 3 of my closest friends and my baby sister...to suicide or drunk driving on the rez..and most of em during the time just before the newscast. bad spirits.
-
u know I used to be suicidal I always wanted to die when I was a teen and it was because I wanted my mom to be there more and just for someone to listen and hear me out or just hug me u know, and I started doing drugs after everyone started noticeing the cuts u know cuz I got emberressed but I came out of it after I had my first baby and when I think about why I wanted to kill myself when I was younger and it was little things that could of been fixed but parents b there give TLC and attention

what about some deal with some organization from other rich country... FInland , Denmark, Germany..I think the most important tihng its education.
-
I see beautiful people torn to ribbons by poverty and hopelessness, they need guidance from those that can tell them about their people, how they lived, how
beautiful they were. Without a good education, these young people won't survive. I see a very dangerous influence, that of gangs, they must disassociate themselves with this influence. The reservations need money for proper housing,
food, clothing, medical care, education. Write to Pres. Obama, make him keep the
promises her made!!

This video is one of the most heartbraking creations i have ever watched....no dry eyes here... When our youth gets this hopeless what does the future of this world look like? I remember J.Trudells words from the poem "how does tomorrow dream"..he says "we´re killing our children..." Young ppl need hope and joy...this world we are leaving to them doesnt appeal...it seems hopeless... the sorrow of those mothers..
I can only pray..peace and love and hope..

Thank you for the prayers. We need it here. 3 more suicides in the last two weeks, at least the ones I know of.

A very important subject overshadowed by bad editing here. Don't try to put so much MTV into this, it is too over the top.
