Racism in West Virginia

Many blue collar Democrats in Appalachia, and particularly West Virginia, are not ready for a black President. Here are a bunch of Hillary Clinton supporters voicing reasons why they would never vote for Senator Obama.

It's a sad commentary of the education level of these people and racism in general.

Update: 10-5-2008: Let me just say that I don't like the comments lumping all West Virginians into the same category. It isn't fair. I know that this video makes a lot of people angry, and it should, but let's try not to do the same things these people are doing and group a certain sections of the population into a category based on the deeds, actions or ignorance of a small group of people.

I know a lot of people in West Virginia and when I was campaigning there for Senator Obama I met a LOT of good people. People that took me in their homes, fed me lunch and dinner and only want what most Americans want. A chance to make a decent living, support their families and to give their children a chance to do the same.

If Obama didn't care about this country he wouldn't have run for president in the first place. Its common sense. He's admitted he's a Muslim, he's told us as much truth as Hilary has. I don't like Obama, but I don't approve of people wailing on him because he's from a different heritage. Its ridiculous.

We have swings in our politics, social and economic, but it's all balanced by our Constitution and separation of powers. There are white racists and there are black racists. I was raised to love everyone. Now that I am an adult, I see that racism exists between both. I was harassed terribly by black people in my school as a teen because I am white. Mainly by the girls. As an adult, I still see very well that blacks still do not like whites. I thought we whites were the problem but racism is very strong in the black community. I hope that one day we will see one another as just humans that we are. Bless.

Whether the people of our great nation vote for republican or democrate it doesn't matter becuase we are in for five more years of bull shit and grd lock. I am sure a lot of people are in the same boat as I am In a one year period my wife, both my sons, and my brother all lost their jobs to companies that when under wth only a 2 day to 2 week notice and it took from 7 weeks to 8 months to get a lower paying worse job, I retired early due to poor health, family income is 50% of a decade ago.
