An excerpt from "September Quartet," a composition by Olin College Professor Diana Dabby commemorating those lost in the Sept 11 attacks. Premiered at the Distler Performance Hall, Perry and Marty Granoff Music Center, Tufts University, Medford, Mass., on Sept 11, 2011.

An integral part of the piece involves the gradual illumination of the 246 names representing the non-hijacker passengers and crew members of the four planes obliterated on 9/11, hence the name September Quartet. Lasting approximately 30 minutes, the five movements are titled: Beginning; 77—175; 93; 11; End.

This YouTube excerpt starts in the middle of the '93' movement and continues through '11' and 'End'. The final words sung by the chorus are: that day ... a Tuesday ... a blue ... bright sky ... dark earth ... hot wind ... fire red ... ... ... day.
