they only create exterior casings for them. the harddrive isn't made by lacie, only the exterior.

you keep admiring the casing of lacie drives... just becuase the casing is "nice" doesnt mean the drive inside is good. I've been told many times that the brand company lacie only make the casing, not the drive... so be careful when choosing an HD, lacie wants you to buy their HDs because the eye candy.

Completely true. The drives they don't make (at least I checked), I believe they use Seagate drives.
Nonetheless, enclosure is also important for protective reasons. There's a lot more information I could delve into here perhaps I need to make an updated video.

The passports are decent. Like I said, WD drives are great, I'm just a fan of the LaCie external drives due to their enclosure quality and feature sets.
