  • Bravo!

  • Dear Araara22,

Somebody gave your comment a thumbs down. I gave your comment a thumbs up to compensate.

Palsoon does a very credible job. He actually conveys the feeling of the lyrics. Imagine that!

Di Stefano's rendition has got to be the definitive one though. Di Stefano's amazing legato really makes the song. I can listen to his rendition for hours on end.

  • You are very very very very good, Egill Palsson! I loved all your songs.

  • You actually say Catari at the beginning as if you nean it. Too many tenors don't!!

  • I'm favorably surprised at how good this interpretation actually is. Kudos for posting this video! I come from Di Stefano (my fav), Corelli, Del Monaco, Carreras and Pavarotti. Palsson lives up to the challenge, no kidding. Also pretty accurate pronounciation.

p.s. / however good Lanza may be, no contest possible with 'real' tenors... sorry.

  • I hear ya with the first version. I am the same way with a lot af music. Liking the first the most :) I will check out the CD :)

  • just heard his version on youtube, it is different than the one i know. get the lanza cds for a real treat.

  • maybe the version i have on cds is different. because it is in no way slower it is way faster and has a high note when he sings the fourth "core ngrato" of the song. it was the first version of the song i ever heard and i dont really like coren grato from anyone else. even with corelli the song bores me. the version ive heard from lanza, different from youtube it may be, is more exciting

  • I wouldn't go so far as to say there was a specific Mario Lanza version, though. He DOES actually do it slower (try searcing for "lanza core ngrato" on youtube)

And it is essentially the same thing. What is the high corengrato at the end? I don't understand, It is the same thing I do.

But good luck with your singing and training. I hope you will sing this one day and put it on youtube.

  • lanza does it much faster and with a high corengrato at the end. when i can get my voice trained enough and freed to sing this song i will sing it the way he did, with my own personal feelings and emotion
