Scott and myself had a opportunity to assist National Geograhic in making a prepper special. The name is Doomsday Prepper which is not the title I would have picked but overall its was fun and hopefully helpful to people that are thinking about prepping

  • Saw the Nat Geo special and thought they did a pretty fair show on preppers without making us look like kooks.

I will admit, without sounding like an asskisser, that you and your crew seemed the most down to earth, but every video section involved had some amazing skills that they shared.

I always thought I was doing pretty well on the prepper front, but after seeing you guys and gals, I feel like a lazy D. bag. Great work!

  • @fangofbaelin Just keep doing something to get more self reliant and self sufficent. It helps when you partner up with like minded people because there is strength in numbers plus you can help each other with skills. Networking is the key to success.

  • what you did not like my video responce??

  • @dsarti1 It was not bad but only a few minutes dealt with my video so make one that is somewhat related and not 10 extra minutes talking about something else that is not about this video. That is one reason I didnt include it plus the information you put out was wrong about the trees their is grass then LOTS of woods around the house. The only thing you said that was right on was the roof but its not going to be painted because it matches the other houses in the area.

  • Out of all the preppers on Doomsday, I felt your group was the best prepped. Very impressive set up you all have and I agreed with everything you had going on.

As far as NatGeo goes, they just can't help themselves from having liberal tendencies; mocking preppers by downplaying their concerns for SHTF..Apparently they get their news from MSNBC and feel that our world is all happy with unicorns, lolipops, and rainbows. No such thing as hyperinflation or national debt! Keep up the good work!

  • @fangofbaelin I thought they made them and "us" look more on the crazy side. So does my family who thinks preppers r crazy. Of all the people on YT, I wish David had not fallen to their trap.

However, I do agree that "they" (and survival Mom) seemed the most down to earth.

  • Dam dog barking. Hard to hear you.

  • i saw it round the time i subscribed and what they said was dumb u both have proper mind set and i truly do not agree with them saying that u are not trying to get others in youre communities and they do not realize that people do not listen nor think about those things with our current life style. they really dont know that all of yall try to get others on board and u shouldve gotten a better rateing

  • I saw your show and it hit home with me, I've been prepping since I watched it, I try to get my wife en op Ed but she just tells me it's never going to happen. My family also says the same thing. I've tried to get my friends envolved, and their all for it but they haunt started preparing anything yet. I'm working on being self sustainable with food and water and all that, but man this is next to impossible without the support of your family. I try talking to them and help them understand, they

  • Watching the special was the final push I needed to finally start prepping. It was something I always talked about, but never put into action. My family still has a long way to go, but we're making good progress. Rarely does a day pass now that I'm not doing some prepping related activity. I even got some friends to start prepping and create plans to meet as a group in a WROL situation. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks, because it was your segment that really got me thinking and motivated.

  • hey southerprepper well i tried to veiw your page and pm you about the national geographic special but my internet refuses to let me veiw your page so could you please pm me about the info take a look at my videos and see what you think we are in the very beggining stages of prepping but i believe we could bring something interesting to nat geo thanks

  • wow the NG special is amazing..had no idea duckweed was anything but a pest..might be worth having a small pond to use ...have the fish..and duckweed ..(was planning on having chickens and goats..but anything to add proteins to our diet and to be able to use the duckweed as food for the some of the animals would be worthwhile..saw a special a few yrs ago on guinea pigs of the Andes (native use them for food..seems to be tasty..Ive eaten rabbits and squirrels so no biggy) cheap source of meat
