  • I like the killer eyes of the fat guy :)

  • I purchased one of these swords a couple of months ago.

Its very well balanced, even for a person like me who weighs under 11 stone. The edge of the blade is very sharp, passing the 'paper cutting' test with flying colours.

  • You guys at Cold Steel are being cheap with most of your swords. You thread your pommels instead of peening them. I can't begin to describe how annoying that is. I can understand WHY you did it, but come on! Peening is the way to go, and that would make your swords totally worth 500-600 bucks.

ALL TRUE SWORDS are either peened or have a full tang integration with the handle.

Anything other than that is not worth my time and money.

  • slashing those things must feel wonderfull

  • @mechupanlamonda : Exactly

  • @Halofreakanoid true. people use manga and anime as a basis of the katana superiority, without any knowledge whatsoever of history and reality.

  • @mechupanlamonda : Exactly. But there's so much falsities about Japanese weaponry that's created by pop culture and movies. It's so disheartening that people just buy into it and don't actually do any research. A katana at 42 inches is roughly 3 pounds. A Longsword at 48 inches is 2.25-3 pounds. Not to mention you could still use it with one hand if you were big enough/skilled enough. People also misunderstand that razor sharp is razor sharp, whether it's curved or not.

  • @Halofreakanoid is, ok. i have to agree with you that there are a lot of evidence about the european sword not being inferior; but agile, versatile, sharp, balance and ligh weapons.

  • @CookieMMMonster : No, that is the exact opposite of reality. Try learning more about European swords, and you'll realize the truth.

  • @mechupanlamonda : I think I misunderstood your post, I apologize. I thought that you were replying to the original poster of the convo thread.

  • @Halofreakanoid ok, i think you misunderstood my post. or maybe i misunderstood yours. but i reply to a guy who said europeans swords were generally inferior to japanese ones, to which i reply that that was not true. correct me if i'm wrong, but you are making a case about the european swords not being inferior? if that's the case then we agree.
