The bassist and vocalist Esperanza Spalding conceived of Chamber Music Society as an intimate experience, a close musical exchange between a small group of friends. If it was intimacy she wanted, she got her wish: Performing three songs in the constraints of Bob Boilen's workspace ensures that all of her supporting players were nice and cozy.

Set List:

"Little Fly"
"Midnight Sun"
"Apple Blossom"

  • how the jesus can she rip those bass lines and sing as she does?? absolutely amazing.

  • Extremely Good but some of her songs she dragged them out far too long

  • That was dope.

  • @ben23232 Besides, the important part of my post was GORGEOUS ;-) hair teeth and all she's one beautiful woman!

  • @pounder2day I didnt say i didnt like it. I'm just sayin, her hair does look like a bird nest.. sorry, but it does. If someone's hair looked like dog fur than say it looks like dog fur. who cares. not everything is about race these days. I prefer "natural" hair on black people most of the time anyway.. birds nest or not. and for the record, If i grew out my hair that long, it would look almost exactly like that, and I'm white so go figure.

  • gap toothed, birds nest hair, and still gorgeous! and of course overflowing with talent. Cant wait for Radio Music Society!

  • Haha wow really cool. She is a sick bass player.

  • I'm discovering her and am amazed by her talent, taste and beauty. I think I just fell in love.

  • This woman is a musical phenomenon. And her recent Grammy win is saving our musical souls!
