Dr. James O'Keefe, CardioTabs founder, discusses the diet we are genetically designed to eat. Nutrition and diet are among the most important elements of staying healthy in regards to the heart. For a long time humans didn't have any heart disease. This is because we are eating a diet that is very different than anything humans have eaten before. For example, 75% of the calories we eat today weren't even an option for our ancestors 100 years ago.

So what diet is best for us today? The same diet our ancestors ate: the hunter-gatherer diet. It is important for us to realign our lifestyle today with the lifestyle our ancestors lived. We are designed to eat the bounty that is gathered like our hunter-gatherer lifestyles.
